YT Videos Booster

The Challenge

An existing Android app needed users to be able to keep watching video content while navigating elsewhere in the app or minimizing it, without a disruptive rebuild of how video playback worked.

What We Built

We implemented a picture-in-picture style feature using an Android foreground service that keeps video playback running seamlessly in the background as a floating player, integrated directly into the client's existing app codebase.

• Foreground Android service keeping video playback alive outside the main screen
• Picture-in-picture style floating player while browsing the rest of the app
• Seamless playback continuation when minimizing or navigating away
• Integrated into the client's existing app without disrupting other features

Where It Stands

Shipped in three days, improving multitasking and engagement for the client's existing user base.
