Restaurant POS
Custom restaurant POS software development, built around your kitchen
We design, build and run point-of-sale systems for restaurants: offline-first tills, kitchen routing, delivery dispatch and a web admin panel, shaped around how your restaurant actually operates instead of forcing you into someone else's workflow.
Live in a real restaurant
Running at Bocconcino Pizza & Donairs since June 2026
Our restaurant POS and its admin panel run day to day at Bocconcino Pizza & Donairs in Burlington, Ontario, handling pickup, delivery and walk-in orders, kitchen tickets and driver dispatch. We built it, and we still manage and maintain it.
What You Get
Restaurant POS features
Offline-first tills
Orders keep flowing when the internet drops. Each station queues orders locally and syncs automatically once the connection returns, with no manual reconciliation.
Kitchen routing
Tickets go straight from the till to the kitchen display, so the back of house sees what to make the moment an order is placed.
Pickup, delivery and walk-in
All order types run through one consistent ticket flow, with delivery orders assigned to drivers from the same system.
Add stations without a technician
A new cashier station is a matter of installing the software and signing in. The system scales horizontally as you grow.
Web admin panel
Manage menus, prices, tax, staff and drivers from a browser, and see sales, revenue, expenses and top items in real time.
Roles and permissions
Separate admin, cashier and driver accounts, with admins able to sign into both the POS and the admin panel.
Is It Right for You?
When a custom POS makes sense
- Your workflow doesn't fit an off-the-shelf POS, for example custom combos, multi-step orders or in-house delivery
- You'd rather own your software than pay per-terminal or per-transaction platform fees indefinitely
- You need the till to keep working through unreliable internet
- You want menus, reporting and staff managed centrally across several stations or locations
- You need integrations an off-the-shelf system won't support
Under the Hood
Built to stay fast during service
The till is a Windows desktop application built in Flutter. A Node.js backend with PostgreSQL keeps the records, Redis caches the menu, prices and stock a cashier touches most, and WebSockets push updates to every till, kitchen display and the admin panel in real time.

Frequently Asked
Restaurant POS questions
Should I build a custom restaurant POS or use Square, Toast or Lightspeed?
If an off-the-shelf POS fits how your restaurant works, it is usually the faster and cheaper choice. A custom POS makes sense when your ordering or delivery workflow doesn't fit those products, when platform fees add up across many stations, or when you need integrations they don't offer. We're happy to tell you honestly which side you're on.
Does a custom POS keep working if the internet goes down?
Ours does. It is built offline-first: each station keeps taking orders and queues them locally, then syncs everything back to the server automatically when the connection returns.
Is your restaurant POS used in a real restaurant?
Yes. Our POS and its web admin panel have been live since June 2026 at Bocconcino Pizza & Donairs in Burlington, Ontario, where we continue to manage and maintain them.
What hardware does it run on?
The till runs as a Windows desktop application, so it works on standard Windows POS terminals and PCs. The admin panel runs in any modern web browser.
Do you support the POS after launch?
Yes. We monitor, update and support the systems we build, including real-time support when something needs attention during service.
Do you work with restaurants outside Canada?
Yes. We're a Canada-registered company working with clients worldwide, with a particular focus on the United States and Canada.
